Insurance & protection
A mortgage is usually the biggest commitment you'll ever make. Protection makes sure it — and the people relying on you — are looked after if life takes an unexpected turn.
We work with a range of established insurers to protect you, your family, your property and your business. We start by understanding what you already have, so you only pay for cover that fills a genuine gap.
Personal protection
Life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection — so the mortgage gets paid and your family stays secure, whatever happens.

Common questions
Do I need life insurance to get a mortgage?
It isn't usually a condition of the mortgage, but if anyone depends on your income — a partner, children — it's well worth considering.
What's the difference between critical illness and income protection?
Critical illness cover pays a lump sum if you're diagnosed with a specified serious illness. Income protection pays a monthly amount if you can't work because of any illness or injury, until you recover, retire or the policy ends.
Who counts as a key person?
Anyone whose loss would seriously hurt profits — often a founder, a director with key client relationships, or someone with specialist skills.
When should buildings insurance start?
Usually from exchange of contracts, as that's when you become legally committed to buying. Your solicitor and lender will confirm.
