Insurance & protection
Personal protection
Life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection — so the mortgage gets paid and your family stays secure, whatever happens.
Most of us insure our phones and cars without a second thought, yet far fewer protect the income that pays for everything. Personal protection makes sure your mortgage and household bills are covered if you die, become seriously ill or can't work for a long period.
We start with what you already have — employer death-in-service, sick pay, savings — and only recommend cover that fills a genuine gap, at a price that fits your budget.
Joined up with your mortgage
We match the amount and term to your mortgage, so the debt is covered if the worst happens.
Pre-existing conditions
Health history doesn't automatically rule you out. We know which insurers take a more understanding view.
Reviewed as life changes
A new baby, a pay rise or a move — we'll check your cover still fits.
FAQs
Personal questions
Do I need life insurance to get a mortgage?
It isn't usually a condition of the mortgage, but if anyone depends on your income — a partner, children — it's well worth considering.
What's the difference between critical illness and income protection?
Critical illness cover pays a lump sum if you're diagnosed with a specified serious illness. Income protection pays a monthly amount if you can't work because of any illness or injury, until you recover, retire or the policy ends.
